I have a workout playlist. I’m adding these two songs to the list. I had a 5 percent chance of walking again. My PT people gave me exercises, but the results and strength I give to God are because of prayer and upbeat music. If you are struggling with a physical or negative situation, tune in to a positive set of music and praise. I am beating the odds. The VA has even taken 100% responsibility for my condition. For that finding, I am thankful to my wife for following through and for the abilities God gave her as a writer.
I have no idea why, but I was moved to write this today for someone or many people. Tonight, I am offering prayers for those in need of this message. Even someone like me with myelopathy can beat the odds with God’s help. I’m praying for you!

I pick songs based on how they speak to me. Some of the groups
are controversial. I believe “Grace” has given and sent this music
to heal and fortify me.
I had a nurse/director in a local facility mock my choice of Christian Rock. It’s not the rock part, but the Christian part that she scoffed at. I left that facility shortly after. Sometimes, Grace will come in ways that will protect you even if, at the time, it seems like the process is difficult and downright wrong. The question is, then, what do you do with that learning and event? I could use my strength to go after the group and the offending person or be still and give it to God. It’s a hard choice for a Christian to make. I have said I am not a pacifist. It should be clear and easy. We get in our own way. But in all things, We need to go to prayer. Grace will come.
As you may know or may not know, I had a back operation in 2022 after the sudden loss of my legs. This loss was due to a training evolution and was sustained while I was serving in the US Navy over 35 years ago. I had a compression of my spinal cord that ultimately resulted in the loss of my mobility. After two back operations, months of physical rehabilitation, and the “Grace of God”, I have gone from wheelchair to walker to crutches. My core strength has improved, and I am thankful every day for this improvement. It has come at a huge cost to my relationships, peace, and physical activity. Degrees of improvement are measured in feet and yards vs miles and elevation. I am constantly looking at adapting my life with alternative methods. For example, if you are not able to hike trails, consider using a UTV trail or an adaptive trail bike. More about this to come soon. The truth is that obtaining access to resources is key in any recovery. Relationships are key to continuing improvement. More about that to come soon.
